Engaging, especially for a reader with no scientific background! I found especially Interesting Dr. But, mostimportant, I feel that thinking through issues about copies versusoriginals of works of art helps each of us understand what isimportant in art for ourselves. The turn of this century was a lot like the turn of the last century."The Victorian Internet" is all about our world and the invention of the Telegraph. Lovers of Romance stories will enjoy this novel. The numerous high quality (mostly in colour) pictures of this era give a real nice flavour. The print is microscopic and faint. I've read all of her books and have never been disappointed. I my own city, children from localschools now get either field trip to the local art museum or thelocal historical museum, but not both. Together with the text (short stories from numerous participants of that era) gives this book a real good impression. Hornung's introduction discusses the most important of these symbolic meanings. A copy of Jeppesen's first notebook, Chuck Yeager's test-pilot report on breaking the sound barrier, and several other imitation artifacts.
