Use of a graphics package, Simplecpp, to pictorially explain programming ideas. In-depth discussion of the inheritance based design with example.. Extensive discussion of recursion in the context of sorting, tree based computations, backtracking. This book gives an introduction to C++ and computer programming to first year engineering and science students. It is expected to be used along with Simplecpp, a graphics package available on the book website. Development of substantial programs to solve problems from mathematics, engineering, science, operations research and games. Substantial coverage of proving correctness of programs including notions such as invariants, pre and post conditions. Features Comprehensive coverage of the C++ language including recent extensions such as lambda expressions and smart pointers. Use of graphical input and outputsHe was Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, during 1988-95. . Since 1995, he is on the faculty of IIT Bombay, currently as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. About the Author Abhiram G Ranade received a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1981 and a doctorate in Computer Science from Yale University in 1989. He has received IIT Bombay Excellence in Teaching awards in 2006-2007 and 2010-2011It is based upon Dr Norrie's Doctor of Project Management (DPM) thesis (2006) undertaken at RMIT University, Melbourne Australia. The topics covered in this book are worth learning about and I found myself instantly engaged after reading the first chapter online. If you grew up in Chattanooga during the 3-channel era, this book is a must-have. This chapter, in my opinion, explains the crux of his approach better than his thesis did. Perkins' book proves in fascinating detail. I'm just disappointed.. It starts off a bit boring but once the search in the forest begins, the book is really gripping. Family photographs spanning over one hundred years (1902-2011) provide the faces to go with the names. I have read and enjoyed all off these books , and this one has been excellent. The story grabs you and keeps pulling you through to the end, where it tells you just enough to make the wait for the last book unbearable ! Lol!Really , do your self a great service and read, and really enjoy this book.,. I'm suspicious about that.In part because I'm poor at creating art myself, and don't want toadmit that IAbhiram G Ranade received a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1981 and a doctorate in Computer Science from Yale University in 1989.
